About Chris Lund
Chris has a general law practice, primarily litigating real estate issues (adverse possession,
easements, petitions to partition, boundary disputes, etc.). He also does domestic relations,
estates and personal injury work. For many years, Chris litigated child abuse/neglect cases in
Massachusetts and New Hampshire, serving as a faculty member for four years in the training
mandated by the Massachusetts Committee for Public Counsel Services for attorneys seeking to
be certified for court appointment in abuse/neglect cases.
Chris originates from Montana. He attended North Park College (now University) in Chicago in
the early ‘70s, majoring in Psychology and Ancient Greek and minoring in Music (playing the
French horn). Immediately after graduating from college, he married Meredith Dahl from
Waltham and they settled in Montana. He worked as a radio announcer, a high-end stereo
salesman, and a claims representative for Farmers Insurance Group. Seven years and two
children later, he decided to go to law school.
Anticipating that they would return to Montana after law school, they moved to New England to
be near Meredith’s family. He attended Vermont Law School, graduating in 1986. Their third
child was born during law school and two others were born shortly after graduating and starting
practice. He passed the Massachusetts bar in the summer of 1986 and the New Hampshire bar in
February 1988. Obviously, he didn’t return to Montana.
His first position as an associate lawyer was with the Springfield firm of Bovenzi & Moriarty in
its Leominster office. In 1989, he accepted an invitation from his friend Gary McGuirk to join
CampoBasso and McGuirk. In 1991, he went into solo practice, renting an office from long time
Fitchburg attorney Robert W. Ware. In 1998, he joined the Fitchburg firm of Erb & Erb as a
partner, and in 2012 he formed a new partnership with Tom Mullaney in Leominster. Most
recently, in September 2019, Chris went solo again, renting an office from Erb & Southcotte
(formerly Erb & Erb).
In addition to being admitted to the Massachusetts and New Hampshire bars, Chris is admitted to
the Massachusetts and New Hampshire federal district courts as well as the First Circuit Court of
Appeals.
Chris served 15 years on his local school board in New Hampshire as well as a board member of
the New Hampshire School Boards Association for 5 years and a board member of the New
Hampshire School Health Care Coalition (SchoolCare) for 11 years. He served numerous years
on the Northern Worcester Bar Association board and was its president for two years (1996-
1998).
Chris enjoys spending time with his family, traveling with his wife, and flying his Piper
Cherokee.
